Buck's Fizz
Today I felt like a zombie. Maybe its jet-lag, maybe its lack of sleep, maybe its my allergies- but whatever it is I was not feeling up to speed today… but that’s nothing that a mimosa can’t fix! Or as the British call it (maybe the French?), a Buck’s Fizz.
After our ‘Field trip’ to the Science Museum, a couple of us got lunch at a little cafe where we ordered mimosas and meals. I ordered the chili, which tasted like apple pie and I once again regretted my decision… I really have to stop being adventurous apparently.
After our later lunch we headed to Hyde Park and Kensington gardens and just chilled on the grass and occasionally collided with a few footballs. Across the field there was a memorial to Albert. I should look up who Albert is but for now I will tell you that I do not know, but his statue was covered with gold leaf (I’m guessing), and his memorial was beautiful and surrounded by ellaborate gates. Across from his memorial was also the Royal Albert Hall (Albert must’ve been a pretty important person).
We shortly decided after our excessive picture-taking of Albert that we should go to Notting Hill, which didn’t end up happening. We attempted to get on the Circle line of the Tube which was apparently breaking down a lot, but we eventually got on the Circle line and it didn’t break on us. After seeing The Tube very busy, after a couple stops on our way back to Baker Street, we witnessed the Tube at the emptiest its ever been (because we’ve experienced the Tube so much in our 2 and a half whole days here).
After we made our way back to Regent’s, we relaxed for a bit before getting Pizza express for dinner. I finally had a dinner in London that filled me up and that I didn’t cringe while biting into it. Pizza Express reminds me much of California Pizza Kitchen back home so it made me happy, accompanied by a glass of wine (I really need to chill with the funds).
We then grabbed some ice cream from Baskin Robbins and headed back to our dorms to get ready for bed.
But now it is a new day (Thursday) and we are heading back to Trafalgar Square (many photo opportunities so stay tuned) to see the National Gallery.
Maybe one day I’ll figure out why my iPhoto isn’t letting me share photos in my entries, but for now all you have is boring words. More words to come from the experience of Thursday, 11th June, 2015. But until then…
Ta ta for now!
