The Meeting Before Ireland
Thursday was the day I was leaving for Ireland.
It was also the day that I had a semi-big meeting with Charles, Angela, and Charlotte.
This meeting was to discuss my summary that I had emailed all of them and to also talk about what we should debrief with the sales team.
All 3 of them loved what I had found on lighting technology and would like me to write a white paper (research article) on all of it so that they can publish it on their website.. So that’s what I will be working on these next two weeks before I go home.
On top of that, they are launching all of this new found information in September. They plan to have an event and want many people to attend so that everyone is aware of the lighting capabilities of 8 Northumberland. Angela said she would like Jeff and I to fly out for the event so I could talk at it. I was so taken aback. These people actually want me to speak at an event, they want me to represent their company. Mind. Blown. I felt like Taylor Swift every time she accepts an award.
However, they began talking about the expenses for that and such, so I suggested that they could use their hologram technology to Skype me in and have it look like I am actually up on stage- because that could save some money ;)
They actually took to that idea very well and were asking if there was somewhere at Michigan State that I could do that from, I figured there was- so we will be discussing that more later.
I was pretty over the moon about everything, I felt so accomplished and felt that I was contributing so much to this business when just 5 weeks ago I thought it was a big possibility that I could fail.
A couple hours after my meeting with Charles, Angela and Charlotte, Charlotte and I had a meeting with the sales team and event coordinators to talk about my research and how they can fit that into their show arounds.
The sales team took to the information really well and we all had a really nice discussion on it. They helped me narrow down exactly what they would need for their show arounds and I feel confident that I can provide that.
